PTWF supports the efforts of the United Hatzalah emergency service organization. This organization has volunteers who are Jewish, Christian and Muslim, and who serve emergency needs throughout Israel.
Principle Eli Beer discusses the need for additional Muslim volunteers with Gary and Meredith Krupp and Sam Philipe of Pave the Way Foundation.
In furtherance of our mission, through our Jerusalem representative Sam Philipe, PTWF expanded gift charity to Eastern European Holocaust Survivors in Jerusalem. We are distributing special electric tea kettles and down blankets for the elderly, who live on fixed incomes and cannot afford such items.
This gift was made possible through the generosity of PTWF Director Richard Kandel.
PTWF volunteer Michael Barbuck distributes blankets with Gary and Meredith Krupp.
Elderly Holocaust survivors from Eastern Europe living in North Jerusalem are assisted by Pave the Way Foundation.
Pave the Way Foundation Director in Israel Sam Philipe, locates specific, unfilled needs of poor and needy people in Israel. Sam initiated our “Project Baby” wherein PTWF assisted poor Jewish, Christian and Muslim mothers receive gift baskets of one month supplies of baby formula, diapers and toys.
Sam asked us to intercede on behalf of poor Holocaust survivors living in subsidized “Beit Gil Hazahav” housing in Jerusalem, These people only recently emigrated to Israel from the former Soviet Union. The down blankets we distributed provide warmth for them during the winter months. We have distributed hundreds of blankets in many different facilities at Beit Gilhazav, Jerusalem

Gary Krupp acknowledges those who contributed to this project. PTWF volunteer Michael Barbuck distributes blankets.
In addition to the blankets project, Ichloo Reim and Rabbi Uriel Malul (above right) run a soup kitchen where they provide meals for these needy people. They only have the funds for one meal a month and so we are seeking help from anyone who wishes to participate in this project and provide meals once a week. The cost is $3,500 for 258 meals per week for one month.
As a non-sectarian organization, Pave the Way Foundation has worked hard, through gestures of good will, to develop trusted personal relationships with the religious and political leaders in the Holy Land. When problems develop, we attempt to take an unbiased position, in order to suggest solutions. Many times this methodology succeeds, and avoids the “turf wars” that usually inhibit interreligious cooperation in the region. Back door communication and diplomacy usually succeeds when public confrontation confounds solutions.
PTWF maintains open lines of communication with many of the Holy Land’s religious and political leaders in order to call upon them to quietly solve problems that may normally erupt into public confrontation.
